Bear Survival Company Management Profile

As Lead Partner & CEO of Bear Survival Company, Dan Baird is the perfect combination of “Type A” worrier and outdoor junkie needed to craft together a company passionate about helping people prepare for great outdoor adventures while also becoming disaster ready at the same time. Dan holds dual accounting and international business degrees from BYU Hawaii and worked as a Public Auditor for Ernst and Young LLP just prior to founding Bear Survival Company in 2011. Since 2004, Dan has also held numerous positions as both a back-country wilderness guide and primitive living skills instructor with organizations such as the Anasazi Foundation and Adventure Out. As an Eagle Scout and proud father of two, Dan strives to promote the importance of always being prepared and ready to help others through both his professional and personal endeavors, including Bear Survival Company’s Global Disaster Relief Outreach and local community preparedness programs. Aside from professional endeavors, Dan also enjoys geeky science fiction novels, hiking and surfing, and traveling with his family.

Earning his Eagle Scout award at age 14 was neither an end nor the beginning for this outdoors-man.  Mike Price has been an avid camper since childhood and enjoys competing regularly in adventure races and triathlons. An engineer at heart, Mike also lives for those Murphy’s Law moments that require him to “MacGyver” his way out of tight spots with duct-tape and paper clips (both of which are always handy in Mike’s Survival Pack!). In addition to being a founding partner of Bear Survival Company, Mike currently volunteers as a Scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop and works as the Controller of a small international agriculture firm. Mike also likes to play chef in his spare time, cooking gourmet meals for his lovely wife and friends over campfires as well as in the kitchen.
